What Inspired Him

Abdul Sattar Edhi's journey of kindness and compassion began at a very young age. As a child, he was deeply affected when his beloved mother fell seriously ill. Taking on the immense responsibility, Edhi devoted himself to her care, tending to her every need with unwavering dedication. This early experience of witnessing his mother's pain and struggle left an indelible mark on him. It was during this challenging period that Edhi's empathy for the suffering of others began to grow. The sadness he felt seeing his mother in distress ignited a profound desire within him to help those who were also enduring hardships. Establishing Edhi Trust:A Vision Becomes Reality

Although Abdul Sattar Edhi had personal difficulties and didn't have enough money, he decided to help those in need. He initially started a small health center, and soon, his idea came into form, and Edhi Foundation came into the picture. By asking the public for help and getting support from the community, he gathered enough money to start different projects, like homes for mothers and urgent ambulance services. This turned his dream into something tangible that helped many other people.

Family and Teamwork

Abdul Sattar Edhi got married to Bilquis, and she also cared about helping people. Their marriage made them even more dedicated to helping others. They worked days and nights together to take care of Edhi Foundation. Bilquis (The wife of Abdul Sattar Edhi) played a big role in running the maternity home and helping with adoptions. Their teamwork shows a strong commitment to helping people, no matter their beliefs or social standings.

Edhi was not only a big name in helping people, but he also worked hands-on every day at Edhi Foundation. He collected money, drove ambulances himself, and helped those most needed it. He showed everyone how to be selfless and caring towards our community and beyond. Simple Lifestyle and Beliefs
